décembreGames Like Hollow Knight to Play During Halloween
Masterful players know how to use those few, precious post-damage invincibility frames to their fullest effect. The rest of us, though, need a bit of a longer window. That's the kind of player that the Stalwart Shell Charm is for. At the cost of two notches, the Stalwart Shell will envelop the Knight in a, well, stalwart shell, and briefly shield them while they heal. There's no shame in needing a safe sp
Hollow Knight Piano Collections is available both physically and digitally through multiple storefronts. If you just want a digital version, there are a variety of ways to listen to the album. Speaking of depths, this is like a new genre aka a Minecraftvania. Dig holes, uncover treasure, use treasure to upgrade equipment in order to dig deeper, and so forth. It’s one of the most addictive games to play with this simple concept and unlike the first game, there is a lot more creativeness in the level design. The Western steampunk aesthetic is a huge plus too and it works best on Swi
The only isometric title on this list, Hades ditches platforming for a greater focus on visceral combat. The new title from Supergiant Games also falls firmly in the rogue-like camp, expecting players to make multiple runs. Despite these differences, Hades and Hollow Knight do actually have quite a lot in common. Both titles test their players against increasingly chaotic 2D battlegrounds, with evolving enemies and tactics. Likewise, both games use NPCs as both vendors and story-tellers, allowing the player to expand their understanding of the world along with their ski
Have you found yourself listening to the Hollow Knight soundtrack thinking, "You know what would be awesome? If all the orchestral parts of this music were stripped out and arranged solely for piano." If you have, I have some very good news for you. hollow knight guide|https://hollowknightportal.com/ Knight Piano Collections features piano arrangements of a selection of the game's sc
So the player eventually completed the delicate flower quest. The grave now has delicate flowers growing around it and the player has acquired the "Solace" achievement. Now what? Well, it turns out the Godmaster DLC added content pertaining to the delicate flowers. If the player takes a delicate flower from the grave of the Traitor’s Child and navigates across the map without taking damage (again), the Knight can present the flower to several NPCs through Hallownest. This includes Elderbug, the White Lady, and Nailmaster Oro. This triggers a unique dialogue with the NPC in question. But it should be mentioned that players can also unlock a secret ending for the game if they present a delicate flower to the Godmas
This is a bit of a cheap tactic but it is still available. Did you know that so long as the player doesn’t sit on a bench most enemies don’t respawn ? If that sounds like something the player can exploit to make this quest easier, that is because it can. All it requires is the player to spend some extra time clearing their intended travel path. The end result with be a road mostly devoid of enemies. But even though the player has a mostly clear path, they should still be cautious of environmental hazards and enemies that may still be aro
In a collaboration with Materia Collective and Team Cherry, Hollow Knight Piano Collections is an album with 15 tracks from the Hollow Knight Original Soundtrack . Originally composed by Christopher Larkin, this selection is arranged by David Peacock and performed by Augustine Mayuga entirely on piano. While they aren't exact recreations of the songs, they are faithful reinterpretations that do sound quite lovely. That is if the one track I heard is indicative of the entire product. Here is the full trackl
Cuphead may not be a Metroidvania like the three above, but fans of Hollow Knight can appreciate it for the high difficulty and similar art style. That is to say, it is like playing an old cartoon mixed with a shooter akin to Contra . The music is also superb plus there is co-op as well. For those curious, it started off as an Xbox One exclusive but it’s now on Switch as w
Developed by Spanish studio The Game Kitchen, Blasphemous is a gory and unsettling Metroidvania title. Players take on the role of The Penitent One, a wandering knight and sole survivor of the Brotherhood of the Silent Sorrow. The game's world of Cvstodia borrows heavily from Christian-iconography, with a particular Spanish-Catholic influence. Cvstodia twists this imagery into a hellish landscape, hallowed by an unknowable supernatural force called The Miracle. The game shares a tone with some of the best fantasy-horror out there, including FromSoftware's Bloodborne and Berserk , the influential dark-fantasy ma
Gameplay is as open as a Soulsborne title , with players able to pick up a variety of weapons and magical attacks. The game also implements many classic RPG elements, such as classes, backgrounds, and skill trees. For those players who don't want to face the horrors alone, it's possible to play with local co-op. For those who want to be a fresh terror for their friends, there's a versus mode
